About Dr. Fares:
Wassim H. Fares, MD MSc is a member of the Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program within the section of Pulmonary, Critical Care, & Sleep Medicine. Dr. Fares specializes in evaluation and management of the different stages of Pulmonary Hypertension. He is also specialized in Critical Care Medicine. His clinical and research focuses are pulmonary vascular disease, acute lung injury, heart–lung interactions, and ultrasound use in the ICU.

Dr. Fares earned his undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science in Biology) and MD from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. He received his Masters of Science in Clinical Research from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He completed both an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Saint Vincent Charity Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, after which he joined the General Internal Medicine faculty at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio for 3 years. Dr. Fares then completed a fellowship in Pulmonary Hypertension and Heart Failure at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey, before completing a Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Dr. Fares serves as the initial contact for the Scleroderma Treatment Center designated at Yale.
